What’s Happening in Monmouth this Month?- March

 

Now that we’re finally breaking out of the colder weather, it’s the perfect time to get out of the house and spend some time with friends and family. March is full of festivities here in Monmouth and there are plenty of ways to get outside and support your local community!

 

Silverball Winter Gala: Play for Autism- March 3
Looking for a fun night out while making a difference? Dress up and attend Asbury Park’s 6th annual  Silverball Winter Gala! Featuring live music, a silent auction, over 200 classic arcade games and a grand buffet and seafood bar, this event is a great way to spend your Saturday night while taking part in a great cause. Tickets are $75 and can be found online. Proceeds benefits The Arc of Monmouth, Autism New Jersey, and Autism Speaks

 

  1. Murray Todd Half-Marathon – March 4

Does the warmer weather have you on a running kick? Join in on Forty-two years of racing tradition with the E. Murray Todd Half- Marathon. One of New Jersey’s most attractive courses, this 13.1-mile race starts at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, and runs through Holmdel and Colts Neck. Race-day registration accepted!

 

Belmar St. Patrick’s Day Parade- March 4th

With over 6,000 marchers and 20 pipe bands, this parade is one of the largest in New Jersey! Beautiful floats cover the course from Main St., to Lake Como & Belmar. Festivities begin at 12:30 and continue to 3.

 

16th Annual Garden State Film Festival- March 22-25

The Garden State Film Festival returns to Asbury Park this year! See the best independent films in New Jersey featuring up and coming artists and celebrities. Many of these films will go on to be distributed but you can see them here first and for a great price. Scheduling and tickets can be found online. A screening pass entitles you to two hours of films for just $15 purchased in advanced, or $17 at the door.

 

Jay Leno – March 23

Spend a night full of laughs with former host of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno! A renowned comedian and interviewer, this show is sure to brighten spirits and is a perfect way to get out of the house. The show will be held at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank with tickets starting as low as $69. More information and tickets can be found online.

 

Easter Egg Hunt- March 31

Jump into spring with this year’s annual Easter Egg Hunt! Held on the Atlantic Highlands Fireman’s Memorial Field, this charming town is the perfect place to entertain the kids while strolling through shops and excellent restaurants.
