Summer may be coming to a close, but there are still plenty of fun, outdoor festivals coming up! Your friends at LG Insurance hope you’ll enjoy spending time with your friends and family this month and that you’ll have fun at one of these great events our community has to offer.

Wind and Sea Festival

The kids are back in school, but it’s still technically summer! To squeeze in a little more summer fun before autumn is upon us, check out the Wind and Sea Festival at the Bayshore Waterfront Park in Port Monmouth. Taking place on Saturday, September 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Wind and Sea Festival is a celebration of all aquatic activities. You and your kids can enjoy fishing, sailing, kayaking, building sand castles and plenty of other fun activities at this beach festival. Admission and parking are both free. Come savor the last bit of summer before it’s gone!

Latino Festival of Monmouth County

Now in its 15th year, the Latino Festival of Monmouth County is one of Monmouth County’s premier festivals with attendance at over 5,000 people last year. This year’s Latino Festival will take place on September 21 at the Monmouth County Hall of Records parking lot in Freehold. This family-oriented fiesta celebrates and shares the rich traditions of various Latin cultures in one big celebration. There will be plenty of music, dancing, delicious cuisine and much more, so come join the party!

Oktoberfest at the Track

Oktoberfest has come a few days early this year! Visit the Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport on Saturday, September 28 for a celebration of German heritage, beer and good times. The party runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and admission is free. Featuring authentic German food, music and, of course, drinks, there’s no better way to kick off the official month of beer than with Oktoberfest at the Track!

Harvest Home Festival

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to party like it’s 1899? Now you can find out! On Sunday, September 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Historic Longstreet Farm in Holmdel is hosting the Harvest Home Festival, an old-fashioned country fair where you can celebrate friends, family and a good harvest the way people did back in the 1890s. There will be wagon rides, corn husking and pie eating contests, craft demonstrations, exhibitions of the best products of the harvest, live entertainment and much more. Escape the modern era for a day and have some fun the old-fashioned way!
