Do you love food? That’s a silly question, right? Who doesn’t! The 11th Annual Belmar Restaurant Tour is taking place on Sunday, March 10 from 11:30 to 3:30. You’ll get to sample food from over 30 local restaurants. Advance tickets are $35, and tickets the day of are $40. Come eat some fantastic food, and maybe even find your new favorite spot for lunch or dinner!
Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The 6th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Asbury Park isn’t your average parade! Funded entirely by local businesses and community fundraising, it’s a massive celebration of the hard-working, community-oriented spirit of Asbury Park. The parade kicks of on March 10 at 1:00 at 5th Avenue and Ocean Avenue. Along with the usual attractions you’d expect to see at a parade—marching bands, classic cars, etc.—the Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade features roller girls, mummers, zombies, and lots of other entertaining sights you won’t want to miss! The parade is free, open to the public and fun for the whole family. Be sure to get there early and find a good spot!
First Saturday in Spring Night Hike
Have you ever wanted to see firsthand what goes on in the forest after dark, but didn’t know where to look? On Saturday, March 23 from 7:30-8:30 p.m., a Park System Naturalist will be taking anyone interested on a free guided hike through Freneau Woods Park in Aberdeen Township. You’ll hunt for animal tracks and have the chance to see and/or hear owls, foxes, spring peepers and other nocturnal creatures!
Since 2003 the Garden State Film Festival has been a celebration and exhibition of all different kinds of independent films. From March 27 to March 31, the 17th Annual GSSF will be taking place at the Paramount Theater/Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Ticket prices vary depending on what you like to attend, but start at $15. If you want a chance to learn more about making films, attend an open talent casting call, or you just love movies, GSSF is an informative and fun event that only comes once a year, so come out and enjoy it!
