October 5th: Influenza Clinic

We know that it might not seem crucial to include, but the years bring about new strains of the flu and it’s important to make sure you’re vaccinated. Not only yourself, but your family as well. The vaccine is covered by Medicare part B, but if you do not have Medicare then the cost of the vaccine will be $25. A small price to pay in order to keep you and your family safe this season. This clinic will run from 10AM-1PM on the 5th of October. Make sure you head out to the Monmouth County Health Department or contact them for more details.

 

October 14th: Family Fun Day and Car Show

Thompson Park in Lincraft will be hosting a Family Fun Day and Car show this coming October. There will be plenty of activities and excitement. Not only is there fun for you and your children, but you can bring your pets along, too! There will be a doggie costume contest taking place during this time and so many more activities. Don’t miss your chance to have a little fall fun. Some activities do have a fee, but parking and admission are completely free!

 

October 25th: Nature Lecture Series: The Real Story of the Jersey Devil

Are you a fan of all things spooky? Maybe you just want to learn a little bit more about your local park or maybe a little bit of both! This October come out and learn about the ecology of the Pine Barrens while also discovering the origin story of the Jersey Devil. This event is free and open to all ages. Bring your children or bring your friends, but make sure that you don’t get too spooked! The event will take place from 7PM-8PM on October 25th. That’s just a few days before Halloween and sure to get you in the spirit! Head on out for this creepy, exciting learning experience!

 

October 27th: Roving Naturalist at Clayton Park

The leaves are changing color and starting to fall from the trees, the smell of fall is in the air and there’s no reason for you to miss out! For this event there will be seasonal points of interest to be discussed, a chance to spot some wildlife and even a little bit of bird watching! Come prepared for the weather as this event will be hosted in the rain or shine. It’s free for all ages and a great way to end the month. The program will run from 1.5 up to 2 hours, but you’re free to leave at any point during that time. Get out your best walking shoes and head out to Clayton Park for some fun!
